RE is taught as a discrete subject at Dale, following the Derby City Syllabus 2020-2025. Within RE, we encourage our children to share and reflect upon their own experiences, as well as the experiences of others, showing a mutual respect for all. RE lessons reflect current religious and non-religious views, enabling our children to recognise and discuss the diversity in beliefs.

In RE we explore different faiths, not only from our own community but also those from around the world. We visit local places of worship and invite visitors into school to share their beliefs and practices.

Britain has a rich, multicultural society and so RE is taught at Dale to ensure children have an understanding and respect for the beliefs and practices of people they will meet throughout their life.

By the end of each key stage, pupils are expected to know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant programme of study. To view the full programme, please click on the progression documents above.
